Art Desk Friday - 2/10/2012

Here's a peek at what I have on my desk this week. Just a couple ACEO'S, a painting and some clay figures. Most are not finished(the figures have been baked, sanded and gesso added onto them, aceo's still need some touches and painting needs some finishing touches too), was not feeling so hot this week(keep getting light headed and feeling like I'm going to pass out with just the simplest of tasks), so I just spent most of my time just resting and taking it easy. I hope to have them finished by next week and hopefully give one away.

Yup, you got it, Steam punk.(I love, love love steam punk) A mixture of all kinds of beautiful steam punk finds(though, some people really need to learn what steam punk is, because I came across lots of items I was wondering how on earth they consider the item steam punk, lol) Hope you enjoy!

Art Desk Friday - 2/3/2012

Here's a peek at what I have on my desk this week. I still have a couple unfinished bigger projects(a couple bigger paintings and some felting), that are still waiting for me to figure out which direction I will take them(they haven't spoke to me yet, on how to finish them, but they will)
But anyway, here are the 8 new ACEO's (I still need to scan them to the computer. Think I'll save that task for tomorrow.)

The Birds.....Run for cover...

Today, I felt like I was in Hitchcock's movie The Birds. I have always loved that movie since I was a young girl, but after watching it, whenever I see large groupings of birds it makes me want to run for cover and hide. Well today on the way home from shopping (Hubby has an obsession with grab $2 grab bags from Michael's..I swear I am going to have to find an addict's group for it. It is getting unreal), we came across the largest grouping of birds I have ever seen, and I was very thankful that I was in a car, and we went through it pretty quickly, but still it made me want to run for cover, and hide. Creepy, creepy creepy, but also very beautiful against the winter sky. It gave me a few ideas for a couple paintings. Below is a pic I took with my cell phone as we went through the grouping (I did take one as we were coming up to it, but they look like little black dots). Really wish I had one of my daughter's with me, because they can records video with their phones(which made me realize, my kids have better phones then hubby and I, and I really need to upgrade our phones, lol)

Well I'm off to go start dinner. Every Sunday the kids have to be home by noon if they are out at friends or whatnot because Sunday afternoon and night is family time. It's the one day we set a side to be home, eat and have fun together.(Even though most nights we do eat together)

Almost Time...

(peeks around the corner..looks around) pssst..."Hey, you....yes, you....Do you know it's almost time for me to unveil some of the new creations, website, and other links. Almost everything is in place, just waiting on a couple more things to be finished, then it's go time. I am really hoping that you will like the new creations, but more importantly, I am really loving them and I'm very happy with my creations again. It feels great to do somethings you love..Well, I should sneak off now before someone sees me. See you soon."

Happy New Year 2012

Just wanted to pop on in, and wish everyone a wonderful 2012. May it be filled with much happiness and joy. It's a new year, and we can let go of all the pain & suffering we may have had from last year, and make this year better by not falling into old habits, by letting go of the past, forgiving those who wronged us, by working to make our dreams and hopes come true and by having faith. Remember with faith all things are possible.
I do not make resolutions for myself(I use to but was never able to keep them), instead I set goals for myself each year that I strive to reach, and that seems to work out much better for me.

Some of the goals I want to work on this year are -
1. Loss some more weight and be healthier (I started this last year and have made great progress)
2. Get back on track creating and not let fear of not being good enough stop me
3. Simplify my life (combine blogs and sites, so I'm not trying to keep track of 1000 things)
4. To create at least one creation a week

(tip toes in & in a soft whisper, says)....."Hello All, Welcome to Tara Nickole's Moonlit Oddities.....This is my new blog, I'm secretly working on for the new year for all my art, creations, musings & whatever else I decide to throw in here. I need a fresh start, and to simplify my life. I have been feeling like I am pulled in a thousand and one directions, trying to keep track of everything that I have going on, all the sites/blogs, family stuff & business and it needs to stop. I need to have a happy zen place to go, where everything is in one place and Moonlit Oddities is it. I hope you will join me in my little piece of heaven as I travel down this road of life, family, faith & art.
