Art Desk Friday - 3/2/2012

Hi All, still not much going on in the studio. This cold just seems to want to hang around, but at least it is better then what it was last week and I don't feel like the living dead anymore. I did manage to plan out some concept sketches for some clay figures and jewelry designs.(sorry no pics)Oh, and I fixed my hubby's laptop.(a month or so ago 2 of my dear children were fighting over it and from that point on it was in a loop of looking like it would go past the windows screen but it kept looping from the login to that, over and over and we could not get any commands to work or anything) Since I don't have a picture of the work desk this week, I'll share a picture of one of the studio helpers(or not so helpful, beings he brings chaos to everything, lol)

Friday Finds - A Dragonfly Dream

For this week's Friday Finds on Etsy, I decided to go with A Dragonfly Dream.
I have always loved dragonflies, but after both my grandmothers passed away a few weeks apart a few years ago, I started to see more and more dragonflies hanging around my house, and where ever we went. Last year was wonderful with them. One day my son came running into the studio saying, "Mom, you have to look out the window" when I did, it looked like hundreds of dragonflies were circling the yard. It was a truly beautiful thing to see. I told my husband about it when he came home from work, and of course he did not believe me(he never seems to when strange things we say happen unless he sees it for himself, lol) Well a few days later it happened again, and he got to see it for himself. In fact, it happened quite a few times and each time was just as beautiful with all the pretty colored dragonflies twirling and dancing about with each other in the air.

To Pinterest or Not...

With Pinterest the hot new thing and everyone swept up in the craze of making pin boards(even myself, but have yet to truly found the time to pin anything thankfully, lol) You may want to take a look at their terms of use again. I had seen a post linked to an article on facebook, after reading through it, it is making me think twice about even using the site or posting any of my art there.(I'm not going to delete my account, but just going to make sure if I post anything, I have the right to do it.)

Art Desk Friday - 2/24/2012

(sneaks in,  cough... cough...hands face masks to everyone.)
Here's a peek at what is on the desk as of last week & this week. Not much really as you can see. Last week, I did not really find the time to create much and this week, I have been sick and in bed for most of the week. This cold was really kicking my butt in the beginning of the week, started out as a sore throat on Sunday, then by Monday morning I felt like I was run over by a bus, so no art of any kind was done this week. Though I did tackle some of my reading stack which included, Drink Deeply by Chloe Neill, Werewolf in the North Woods by Vicki Lewis Thompson, and Silver Tongued Devil by Jane Wells.

Friday Finds - Bunny Luv

For this week's Friday Finds on Etsy, I decided to go with Bunny Luv. I have had ideas of bunnies dancing around my head for the last few weeks and even have started a couple bunny pieces of my own. So I figure why not give everybody some bunny luv :) (of course though, these are just my favorites on etsy. there are tons of really cute bunnies)

Friday Finds - Fantastical Felts

For this week's Friday Finds on Etsy, I decided to go with Fantastical Felts, to pay tribute to some of the wonderful needle felt artists out there. I love, love, love felting. I fell in love with it a few years ago, and have been felting ever since.(it's also get as a stress reliever. Nothing like taking some wool and stabbing it with a needle to get some aggravations out. wink, wink)
